140sqm House, Caesarea
Photographs: Elad Sarig
Interior design of a 140sqm house in Caesarea. The house, located in one of the oldest neighborhoods of Caesarea near the beach, was built in the 1990’s as two-family house on a quarter-acre plot. The owner is a great fan of surfing and sports. The goal of the renovation, first and fore-mostly, was to change the house design to accommodate a man in the second chapter of his life. Another design challenge was to create a light, airy space as much as possible, despite the originally small and low house ceilings. To achieve this goal, it was decided to reduce to the minimum the color palette, and to choose white as the main color. For the floor and the staircase a smoked, cracked oak cladding was selected in order to give a warm and homey feeling, and to bring together all parts of the house. The ground floor contains a kitchen, living room, dining room and master suite. The top floor includes two bedrooms and bath for children, as well as a work room and a gym (that used on weekend as additional bedroom).
