57sqm Apartment, Berlin
Photographs: Boaz Arad
Interior design of a 57sqm apartment in Mitte, Berlin. The new design was planned according to the client’s needs, which were oriented more towards a single user and rarely for a maximum of two users. The old bathroom and kitchen location where re-positioned, the bathroom and bedroom were compacted, while expanding the kitchen and living space. Concrete flooring vs wood was used to gain a sense of strength to the smaller, more fragile parts of the design while softening the larger coldness of the open space. The bathroom was introduced three shades of green to the wall tiles to give the visual illusion of a larger space while using wood and metal as base materials for the shower floor and elements. Ample storage space was integrated with the kitchen, the living room, the entrance, and the bedroom.
