Planning and interior design of a 75sqm apartment from the 30’s with a restrained budget. Original design elements from the apartment were preserved, including wooden doors and windows and terrazzo flooring. Three-layer parquet strips were designed in place of the broken walls, thus, there is a memory of the original plan. The living room and the kitchen were combined and the children’s bedroom was reduced to create a spacious and clean living space.
In the planning, special attention was given to the children of the family, an intimate reading corner was planned between the children’s bedroom and the living room, from this corner there is another access to the children’s room with a small door. The children enjoy a “hidden” place on a scale that suits them. The entrance hall became a workspace that looks out onto the urban landscape and the mountain horizon.
