80sqm Apartment, Givatayim
Photographs: Gidon Levin
Planning and interior design of 80sqm apartment in Givatayim for an architect and musician.
All interior walls were demolished and redesigned to open space, which was originally closed and dark.
At the heart of the apartment a transitional space has been designed that links the various functions and “carries” light, air and views to the depth of the apartment.
At both ends are public areas: living room, kitchen and dining room in a common space, and at the other end a work area. The entrance to the apartment and the entrances to the private rooms are through the passage space, where storage units have also been designed. In the private areas: a bathroom, an en-suite shower room and a music room that becomes a guest room when needed.
The apartment was designed in minimalist, bright lines with only four colors: white, gray, walnut wood and touches of green. The carpentry was designed as continuity units interconnected in form, material and color, and new furniture and details were incorporated alongside old vintage items.
