Planning and interior design of an apartment in a tower in the heart of Tel-Aviv.
The design of the apartment enhances a dialogue with the city, and takes the city shades as a central motif.
The furniture creates a blend of interior and exterior. A combination of wood and iron brings shades of gray and orange taken from the city into the apartment. The balance between the colors of the apartment and the colors of the city changes throughout the day.
Designing an apartment in a tower poses a challenge since the aesthetics of the building is dominant and restricting. The carpentry, harnessing elements of the building to frame the landscape. In the bedroom, a frame between the columns of the building becomes the structure of the bed. This frame emphasizes the urban view from the window and makes it a central image in the room.
A wardrobe in the main bedroom is made of wooden and glass frames, through which views of the sea can be seen.
The furniture in the apartment combines metal with wood, old and new.
The wood meets the metal in the thickness typical of the metal. The new furniture meets the old in material and hue.
Living in the city, between earth and sky, between old and new, blended through color and material, merges the indoors the indoor and outdoors.
