130sqm House, Kfar Haoranim
Photographs: Amit Gosher
The house was tailored according to the needs of one person who fulfilled his wishes and moved in from his apartment in Tel Aviv. However, during the planning, functions were added that could be used in the future to enlarge the house, creating the patio as a future location for a staircase to the second floor. The pine grove is a central anchor in the planning of the house.
The house was designed so that all the central functions – kitchen, living room, work room and bedroom – will be directed towards the pine grove so that it will receive maximal expression and presence from every corner of the house.
The back elevation, which faces the woods is a transparent facade with high display cases. All rooms have an exit to the terrace. The front façade facing the street is more opaque and enables concealment and intimacy. The vegetation surrounds the house on all sides but does not try to compete with the natural forest from the rear front.
