RP Duplex, Tel Aviv

The Duplex Apartment was designed for a young family of urban enthusiasts.
Since the Apartment was built as a new extension to an existing building , the location of the entrance was a given , and as a result of this single piece of data, the outcome of concealing the mechanical systems of the apartment, would have resulted in a very low plaster ceiling height. This allowed for a preliminary design concept of exposing all of the systems, and creating a concrete ceiling and feature wall which accompanies the living, dining and cooking spaces of the apartment.
The design deals with the juxtaposition of the rough and rugged , with the processed and the delicate , while creating a neutral background to the more flamboyant styling and personal collections of the clients.
