House in the Kibbutz , Sharon area
Photographs: Itay Benit
Interior design of a 130 sqm house in a kibbutz in the Sharon area.
The house was designed for a family with 3 teenage children, and is divided on two floors.
The idea was to create a house in urban appearance, not standard for the type of houses in the kibbutz.
At the same time, it was important to give a sense of space and “freedom”, that connects to the nature of life in the kibbutz, proximity to the sea, and connecting the house to the garden that encompasses the entire house and is defined as a very important and active area of kibbutz daily life, including contemporary, and as an integral part of the home.
On the entrance floor are the living room, kitchen, dining area, guest services, garden, and service yard.
In addition, there are two bedrooms – Master bedroom, which includes a spacious bathroom, and a safe-room where the son’s bedroom is located.
At the living floor there are two bedrooms for the two teenage girls, a shared bathroom and a large roof terrace.
The sense of space in the house is created, among other things, by choosing a specific stone flooring that was polished at the end of the flooring process and given a blackened appearance.
